When your Dissolved Gas Analysis test results indicate you have an active fault, the next step is to de-energize the transformer and investigate. A full slate of electrical testing, including power factor testing, winding resistance, sweep frequency response analysis testing and other routine tests can help isolate the source of the fault gases. After testing, analyzing the data is critical to determine the next step for the transformer repair. No single test can be used independently to determine the transformer condition.
